All classes are offered in an online cohort format, offering a mixture of asynchronous and synchronous (online) formats enabling students to participate regardless of their geographical location. Fast-Track To Your MBA
4 + 1 Option
Students enrolled in Shenandoah’s four-year Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program can take advantage of the new 4 + 1 option to earn an MBA with one additional year of classes.
2 + 2 + 1 Option
Transfer students with two years of college credits can take advantage of the 2 + 2 + 1 option that allows them to transition from an associate of arts degree in business degree to the BBA degree and subsequently to the MBA degree — all in five years.

Elective Courses
These include graduate-level business courses (graduate certificates) or courses offered in a joint professional or graduate degree program. Electives may be taken in all functional areas of graduate study offered by the School of Business. Students may request to take other graduate courses offered within the university; however, permission of the director of the MBA program is required to take elective coursework outside the business school.

- Applicants who have already successfully passed these required courses in their undergraduate business programs may have these prerequisite courses waived.
- Applicants who have not taken these prerequisite courses are required to take them before starting the MBA program. These are offered via the university’s online Business Essentials Certificate.

Experiential Learning Opportunities
MBA students can voluntarily take advantage of experiential learning opportunities outside the classroom, whether in case studies or working with companies and organizations seeking to engage students in real-world projects.
MBA students may also engage in travel-abroad business applications as part of the university’s global learning initiatives, including
- Global Experiential Learning (GEL) – offers Shenandoah students a short-term, faculty-led, study-abroad experience for academic credit.

Application Information
The MBA Admissions Committee gives full consideration to your entire application packet, but admission to the program is competitive. When your complete application is received, the MBA Program Director evaluates it and determines your eligibility. If you are found eligible, an interview with the MBA Admissions Committee will be scheduled. The minimum requirement for the MBA program is a bachelor’s degree from a nationally or regionally accredited academic institution and acceptance into graduate school.
